THE Borders has recorded 407 new cases of coronavirus, according to new figures.
Scottish Government data was published at 2pm today (March 18).
And the updated statistics show that the Borders has now recorded 26,579 cases of COVID-19 since March 2020.
Data released today covers more than a 24-hour period, however, as Public Health Scotland experienced further technical issues yesterday (March 17), meaning data included in this update is from 2pm on March 16 to today.
A statement on today's update says: "Figures reported on 18/03/2022 cover more than a 24 hour period. This is due to a reoccurrence of the technical issue from earlier in the week, meaning data is included from 2pm on 16/03/2022."
There are 47 people in hospital in the region – one more than yesterday.
Scotland has seen 1,663,830 cases since the start of the pandemic, according to the figures.
