Picture-perfect contest at Galashiels Camera Club

A spokesperson said: “Traditionally this is our annual competition where members submit their best images of the year, or completely new ones, for judging.

“This year’s judge was Scott Near LMPA LRPS of Camershy Photography, Edinburgh. There are four categories: General, Landscape, People and Nature with a standard and beginner section in each.

"There is then an overall winner for the best images in each class.

"The Burns Cup is presented for the best standard class image and the new Neil McLean Trophy for the best beginner image.

"In all 163 images submitted.

"Sadly, we were again unable to have print categories. Hopefully we can reintroduce prints next season.

"Our next season starts on September 14.
