A POSTBOX in honour of a local Olympian has been replaced after it was damaged last week.
The new gold postbox in front of The Tontine Hotel, which was first installed in honour of Olympic showjumper Scott Brash, was replaced today [April 22] after the original was knocked during a traffic incident last week.
A spokesperson from Royal Mail said: "Our replacement postbox on Peebles High Street has today been painted gold, as was the previous one, which was displaced in a road traffic incident last week.
"The postbox is coloured gold in honour of Scott Brash’s achievements at London 2012, and will again feature the plaque that was previously displayed.
"We are very sorry for any inconvenience that customers experienced while this postbox was out of service."
