A BORDERS man who was involved in a bust-up with police at his partner's home has been ordered to carry out 60 hours unpaid work at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
David Meek, 30, of Eyemouth, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by acting in an aggressive manner, shouting and swearing, making derogatory comments towards police officers and refusing to leave the property in Marine Square when requested to do so.
Depute fiscal Fiona Hamilton said shortly before midnight on February 17 Meek's partner had telephoned the police to say he had returned to her flat and she wished for him to be removed.
She continued: "When police arrived they found him lying in bed under the influence of alcohol.
"When they engaged with him he became abusive and swore at them.
"He was arrested and placed in a police vehicle."
Sheriff Peter Paterson said the Community Pay Back order was an alternative to a fine.
