MOTORISTS throughout the country will be charged to use electric charging points from tomorrow Sunday May 1 2022.
The Scottish Borders Council rates are as follows.
The Slow/Fast Charger Tariff will be £0.16 per kWh with a £1.00 minimum charge.
The Rapid Charger Tariff will be £0.30 per kWh with a £1.00 minimum charge
An overstay fee of £1.00 per minute applies after 45 minutes – max overstay charge of £20
A 10-minute grace period applies & no-return within 90 minutes
Motorists are being advised to refer to local signage and the online ChargePlace Scotland live map before connecting to avoid unexpected charges.
ChargePlace Scotland offers a comprehensive and up-to-date list of charging points across the Scottish Borders and Scotland.
It includes information on whether a charging point is in use, what type of connectors it has, nearby facilities and an option to report a fault.
ChargePlace Scotland is owned and has been developed by the Scottish Government and funded in partnership through a public grant from Local Authorities and other organisations.
Similar charges will also apply in other regions.
