A 39-YEAR-OLD man who has a string of previous convictions for sending indecent communications has been jailed for 12 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Ashley Bell's latest offence came over a two-day period in January at a house in Bannerfield Drive, Selkirk.
He admitted intentionally and for the purpose of sexual gratification sending a male a sexual written communication to him and repeatedly sending sexual text messages.
Bell, previously of Galashiels and Hawick but who was described as a prisoner in Edinburgh, had the jail sentence back-dated to January 18 when he was first remanded in custody in connection with the matter.
He was also made subject to the notification requirements of the sex offenders register for 10 years.
