A 37-YEAR-OLD man who shouted homophobic abuse at police officers has been fined £200 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Stuart Ogilvie pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Coopers Bar, Hawick, on November 27.
Alasdair Fay, prosecuting, described how police officers were carrying out a routine check in the premises and everything was in order until someone swore loudly.
He was asked to behave himself but carried on with the same homophobic language and was warned he would be arrested.

Ogilvie continued and members of the public started to complain about his language.
As he was being removed from the premises he banged his head and had to be taken to Borders General Hospital.
Defence lawyer Mat Patrick said his client had consumed too much alcohol.
In addition to the fine, Ogilvie, who gave an address near Hawick, was ordered to pay a £10 Victim Surcharge.
