NHS Borders are reviewing and implementing changes across their sites in line with Scottish Government guidance.
While physical distancing requirements have been removed from national guidance NHS Borders say that they still have to comply with Health and Safety occupancy levels and avoid overcrowding across all sites.
It remains necessary for all NHS Borders staff, patients and visitors to wear a face mask within all healthcare settings to help protect those in our care who are at greater risk from Covid-19 infection.
Anyone attending NHS Borders sites is expected to wear a Fluid Resistant Surgical Mask (FRSM) if they can.
Visitors will no longer need to provide track and trace information.
However appointments for visiting in all inpatient areas will continue for the time being, except for the following areas where open visiting is being trialled:
Haylodge Community Hospital (between 2pm and 7pm only)
BSDU (no time restrictions)
MAU (between 2pm and 7pm only)
This change is effective immediately and will be reviewed on June 16 2022. Further updates will be provided in due course.
If you are visiting any NHS Borders site they say please help us to keep patients and staff as safe as possible by following the guidance below:
Do not visit our facilities if you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have come into contact with someone with Covid-19
Ensure that you have had all of your Covid-19 vaccinations
Make use of the Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Covid-19 testing offer available for anyone visiting a hospital or care home by ordering online or calling 119.
