A SUPERMARKET has recalled two of its tuna products over fears they may contain pieces of metal.
The Co-op has recalled it Co-op Tuna Chunks in Sunflower Oil and Co-op Tuna Chunks in Springwater as there is a risk the products contain pieces of metal, making them unsafe to eat.
The Co-op Tuna Chunks in Sunflower Oil (3x145g) have a best before date of August 31, 2026, and the Co-op Tuna Chunks in Springwater (3x145g) have a best before date of August 31, 2024.
A spokesperson from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: "Co-op is recalling the above products.
"Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products.
"These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products."
Customers who have bought either of these products should return them to their nearest Co-op supermarket for a refund.
