POLICE officers in Hawick on the weekend arrested two men in connection with separate incidents in the Wellfield area of the town.
The first arrest took place around 9.15 am on Saturday, August 27.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with an alleged breach of bail offence in Wellfield Road.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The second arrest took place later that day, around 6.55pm.
Another 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with an alleged theft from a car on Wellfield Road and road traffic offences following a subsequent collision on the A698, west of Denholm involving one vehicle.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Both men are due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today Monday August 29.
Chief Inspector Vinny Fisher, Police Scotland, said: “Officers will continue their high-visibility patrols in the Wellfield area of Hawick and we would encourage anyone with concerns about crime in the area to speak to them, call police via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.”
