A 31-YEAR-OLD woman who admitted driving dangerously and driving while under the influence of drugs has been banned from the road.
Jo Lewis, who gave an address in Liverpool, pleaded guilty to the offences which happened on the A7 between Teviothead and Hawick and in various streets in Hawick of the afternoon of June 13 last year.
Procurator fiscal Alasdair Fay told Jedburgh Sheriff Court that concern was raised by several motorists about the manner of her driving.
When she arrived in Hawick she mounted a pavement and knocked over three traffic cones.

When police stopped the vehicle her eyes appeared to be slightly glazed and her speech was slurred.
Tests were carried out and she was found to have 67 microgrammes of benzoylecgonine in her system, the maximum permitted is 50.
Lewis told police she had been travelling to Hawick to visit her mother and have a cup of coffee with her in Sainsbury’s.
Lewis of Monville Road, Liverpool, had sentence deferred until September 26 for background reports. An interim driving disqualification was imposed.
