PARTS of the Borders have been issued with a yellow Met Office warning for thunderstorms.
The weather alert is in place from 4pm to 11pm today (September 6).
The warning covers north of Peebles, as well as parts of the east coast of the region.

“Bands of heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to move northwards across Scotland through Tuesday afternoon and evening,” said a Met Office spokesperson.
“These may bring 20 to 25mm in an hour and perhaps 40 to 60mm in three to four hours in one or two places, mainly in the east. Lightning and hail may be additional hazards.
“Rain and thunderstorms are expected to move northwards overnight then ease and clear early on Wednesday morning.”
