The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for the Scottish Borders.
The national weather service has put in place the warning from 3 pm until 11.45 pm on Thursday night.
It has been predicted that heavy rain may cause travel disruption, and flooding in a few places through the afternoon into the evening.

What to expect from the Met Office yellow weather warning
The Met Office has told us to expect the following:
- Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer by car and bus, with rail services possibly also affected by flooding.
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.

The weather forecaster predicts that bands of heavy rain are likely later this afternoon.
The Met Office has also warned that there could be also thunder close to the east coast.
This could bring 10 to 15 mm may fall within an hour in a few spots, while more widespread totals of 20 to 30 mm seem likely over 3 to 6 hours.
In some hillier parts, especially across Lothian and Borders, we could see around 50 mm, this falling onto the wet ground.
The weather service has warned that this could increase the possibility of a few flooding problems.
