A MOTORIST has admitted causing the death of a cyclist by careless driving in a Christmas Day crash.
Thirty-year-old Ian Methven was cycling on the A6105 road in Berwickshire on Christmas Day in 2020 when he was struck by a blue Ford Focus.
He suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keith Halliday, 50, of Springfield Avenue, Duns, pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to driving a vehicle without due care and attention by failing to see Mr Methven on the roadway and caused his vehicle to collide with him
The accident happened on the stretch of road between Brieryhill and Manderston.
Sentence was deferred until October 24 for the production of background reports and Halliday received an interim ban from driving.
