DOZENS of messages of sympathy have been posted online for Borders woman Michelle Pettie whose body was found in the River Tweed at Lowood Bridge near Melrose on Sunday September 25.
Michelle (45) was reported missing from her home in the Eildon Crescent Melrose on Monday September 5 2022.
Yesterday Tuesday October 4 2022 a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that her body had been formally identified.
Messages on social media included RIP Michelle – ‘Such sad news’ – ‘Thoughts to friends and family’ – ‘Rest in peace’ - ‘Heart-breaking’ – ‘Condolences to family and friends’ – ‘So sad fly high’ - ‘Gone but not forgotten’ – ‘Blessed be’ – ‘I will never forget you’ and many more.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.”
