A 72-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deliberate fire outside a Borders shop, according to police.
The incident reportedly happened on Jedburgh High Street at around 1.40am on Tuesday (October 25).
Nobody was injured and the blaze was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, say officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The 72-year-old man has been released on undertaking to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
