A GALASHIELS man convicted of assaulting a man to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement has been jailed for 30 months at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
David Robertson, now 32, carried out the attack on his victim, who was 55 at the time, at a house in Scott Street, Galashiels, in August 2019.
His jail sentence of two and a half years was back-dated to June 15, 2022.
After Robertson was jailed he appeared again at Selkirk Sheriff Court the following day charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and obstructing a drugs search.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and a trial date was fixed for February 9, 2023.
