SCOTTISH Borders Council has issued advice to residents with regard to bin collections over the festive period.
With the exceptions of the areas listed below, all household waste and recycling collections will take place as normal.
West Linton – Gifford Place and The Loan, general waste, Monday December 26 moved to Wednesday December 28.
Linnfall, Waterheads & Harcus Farm, general waste and recycling, Monday December 26 moved to Wednesday December 28.
Burnfoot, Bucklands, Courthill, Clarilaw, Appletree Hall, Burnhead Farm, Altonnew House’s, Nuirfield & Groundistone, recycling Tuesday December 27 moved to Wednesday December 28.
Harestanes, Jerdonfield, Mounthooly, Crailing Straight, Grahamslaw, Bowmount Forest and Eckford Village, general waste, Monday January 2 moved to Wednesday January 4
West Linton – Gifford Place and The Loan, recycling, Monday January 2 moved to Wednesday January 4.
Linnfall, Waterheads, general waste and recycling, Monday January 2 moved to Wednesday January 4.
This means that the majority of collections will be taking place as scheduled on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 December, and Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 January.

There will be no food waste collections on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th December, and Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd January.
SBC apologise for these food waste collection cancellations but we have had to take the decision to prioritise general waste and recycling collections.
They say that if your brown outdoor food caddy is full, please place any extra food waste in your general waste bin.
The bulky uplift service will not be running from 20 December 2022 to 6 January 2023.
During the festive period the amount of waste and recycling generated increases significantly.
To support services Scottish Borders Council urge people to keep using the Communty Recycling Centres, all of which remain open except for 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January, wash and squash recycling to maximise capacity in recycling bins and park considerately to enable our waste vehicles can access tight streets and don't have to miss any collections
