RESIDENTS of Kelso have condemned vandals who stripped the baubles from the Christmas trees and removed specially-decorated covers from bollards in the town centre.
Many of the baubles had been placed there in memory of loved ones, including one from a child left in memory of their mother.

A spokesperson for Kelso Community Council said it was "absolutely disgusted" by the behaviour and would be checking CCTV to identify those involved.
A spokesperson for Kelso Christmas Lights group added: "We have decided to remove the four trees earlier than planned. We are sadly disappointed that some baubles were damaged, anything that’s still on the trees will be kept and respectively looked after. We will display them again next year.
"The committee of Kelso Christmas Lights are deeply disappointed and saddened by this incident, we hope whoever was involved has a conscience and comes forward to apologise.
