POLICE negotiators were called to an address in Coldstream this morning (Monday January 16 2023) to assist local officers in connection with an investigation into an earlier disturbance in the town centre.
Police had previously been called to the High Street shortly before midnight following the report of a disturbance.
Details of the disturbance have not been released and officers say that their enquiries are ‘ongoing’.

A 31-year-old man was subsequently arrested and has now been charged.
Officers say that a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50pm on Sunday, January 15th, police were called to a report of a disturbance in High Street, Coldstream.

"Officers then attended an address in Hillview in connection with the disturbance.
“Local officers and negotiators attended, and a 31-year-old man was later arrested and charged in connection with this incident; and enquiries are ongoing."
Police say a report, detailing the circumstances, will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
