POLICE Scotland has confirmed that a taser was used during the arrest of a 31-year-old man in Coldstream on Monday morning. (January 16 2023)
Trained negotiators were called out to the Hillview area of town following an earlier disturbance in the town's High Street.
Police say that following any taser deployment, the circumstances of the incident will be referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50pm on Sunday, January 15th, police were called to a report of a disturbance in High Street, Coldstream. Officers then attended an address in Hillview, Coldstream in connection with the disturbance.
“Local officers and negotiators attended and a 31-year-old man was later arrested and charged in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing

"A taser was deployed during this incident. As with any taser deployment, the circumstances of the incident will be referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner."
A report, detailing the circumstances, will also be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
