The MET Office yellow weather warning for high winds that was issued on Sunday January 29 has now been amended and no longer covers the Scottish Borders.

The Met Office had warned of a ‘danger to life from flying debris’ between 8pm on Tuesday night and 9am on Wednesday morning with 60mph winds expected ‘fairly widely’ across the country including parts of the Scottish Borders.
Some disruption to public transport was also anticipated.

However, although not in the weather warning area, strong winds of up to 40mph are still anticipated in the Borders as well as heavy rain.
And people should still take care if they are out and about.
