A POLICE investigation is ongoing into claims that a woman was subjected to a torrent of horrific racist abuse in Hawick last weekend.
The woman told the Border Telegraph that she was about to board an X95 bus in Mart Street shortly after 7am last Saturday morning (February 4) when she was approached by three teenagers, (two males and one female) who called her hugely offensive and disgusting names.
One of the youths also told her that she was a ‘dead person walking.’

The driver of the bus refused to allow the trio to board the vehicle due to their behaviour and he was also verbally abused.
Police were contacted but the group had left prior to their arrival.
The victim, who manged to get a photograph of the teenagers, described the language used toward her was “nasty, abhorrent and hateful.”
