A 37-YEAR-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man following an incident in Galashiels on Friday night. (February 17 2023)
Emergency services were called to an address on Chris Paterson Place on the edge of town shortly after 6pm.
A 40-year-old man was taken to the Borders General Hospital but he died a short time later.
The scene was cordoned off and police officers carried out house to house enquiries in the vicinity.

Police Scotland said that the incident was contained to the house, and there is no risk to the wider community.
Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an injured man at a property on Chris Paterson Place in Galashiels around 6pm on Friday, February 17th.

“The 40-year-old was taken to Borders General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
“A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“The incident occurred within a dwelling and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation. There was no risk to the wider community.”
