The Emergency Department at the Borders General Hospital is exceptionally busy, with a number of people requiring admission.
NHS Borders say that this is impacting the length of time that patients are waiting.

Earlier this morning (Tuesday March 7 2023) staff posted a message on social media saying “Please only attend the Emergency Department for life threatening emergencies.
“If you have a minor injury or urgent health problem which isn't life-threatening, please call NHS 24 on 111”
