SNOW and ice are forecast for the Scottish Borders today and yellow warnings remain in place this week.
Police are advising drivers to plan ahead, allow time for your journey and ensure you have enough fuel, warm clothing, food, water and a charged mobile in case of any delays.

As the temperature falls, the roads will become icy so drivers should think ahead before they travel anywhere:

“Leave plenty of time for the journey. The traffic will be slower with people taking precautions whilst driving.
“No journey is worth the risk of driving fast in the ice and snow.

“The glare from the low-lying sun can be blinding during winter, so please take extra due care and attention and have some sunglasses available to help with the glare.
“Be considerate of all road users - remember everyone is just trying to get from A-B safely.”
