MEMBERS of the Td1 Youth Hub took advantage of the teachers’ strike to carry out a random act of kindness in Galashiels last week.
The organisation, based at 47a Ladhope Vale, works with young people aged between 11 and 25 years old, offering support, guidance and opportunities to shape their futures.
And last Tuesday, volunteers Katie, Caila, Holly, Keira, Kaylah and Eilidh took to the town centre to run a ‘Random Act of Kindness’ stall.

The girls offered free teas and coffees and baking which was made by fellow volunteers Riley, James and Sean within the drop in at the youth hub.
They also handed out cards with kindness quotes and balloons to local children.
Many members of the public expressed their gratitude and praised the young people for holding such an event whilst engaging in their community positively.
Rachael Scott, a youth development worker, said: “We at Td1 Youth Hub are very proud of all nine young people who participated within this event.”
