GALA Fairydean Rovers Walking Football Club are looking for a goalkeeper for their Over 60s National League tournament which kicks off on Wednesday April 5 at the Oriam in Edinburgh and continues for the remainder of the year.

This year’s league will be their first competitive event since 2020 but regular keeper Ross Buchan is unable to take part hence the appeal.

But whoever takes over the goalkeeping gloves has some hard acts to follow.
Stalwart defender Mike Godsman who was the club’s first Player of the Year said: “We have been very fortunate to have had three top quality competition goalkeepers in the past in Mike Bisland, Glenn Milne and Ross Buchan. It makes a massive difference having that calibre of goalie in these competitions.
“All great fun but competitive in the right spirit although I wish we had VAR when a controversial goal chalked off cost us the title in the first walking Football Scotland National League competition at Ravenscraig.”
