BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Borders farmer who has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of children.
Sixty-seven-year-old John Waddell, of Lyne Station, near Peebles, had denied possessing the images on a home computer.
But he was found guilty of the offence – which happened between January 2020 and February 2021 – following a jury trial held at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Waddell had a second charge against him of making indecent photographs found not proven.
Sentence was deferred on the pensioner until May 2 for the production of a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment.
