A 62-YEAR-old man was arrested by police responding to reports of a man with a knife behaving in at threatening manner in the Larchbank Street area of Galashiels yesterday afternoon (Monday April 10 2023).
Two police vans and a police car utilising blue lights raced to the scene around 2.40pm.
After a search of the area, officers arrested a man who has now been charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court at a later date.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said:” “Around 2.40 pm on Monday, 10 April, 2023, police received a report of a man with a knife behaving in at threatening manner in the Larchbank Street area of Galashiels.

“Police attended, searched the area and a short time later a 62-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“No-one was injured as a result of the incident.
“The 62-year old man is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
