BORDERS MP John Lamont has praised R&K Drysdales as a "real Scottish Borders success story" after a recent visit to the business based near Cockburnspath.
During the visit, Mr Lamont was given a tour of the plant and learnt more about their innovative methods which has led them to become one of the UK’s largest Brussel sprout producers.
The firm is one of the largest independent employers in the Borders.

Mr Lamont praised Managing Director, Gavin Milne, for the company’s success and hailed their commitment to supporting the local community.
They also have partnerships with several local schools where they help children learn skills for the future.
Mr Lamont said: “R&K Drysdales is a real Scottish Borders success story.
“They are one of the largest independent employers here in the Borders, employing between 130 to 300 people at any one time, and have grown to become one of the UK’s largest Brussel sprout producers.

“It is great to see their commitment to supporting the local community by providing great quality jobs and working with schools to help children learn skills for the future.
“Despite rising costs for the industry, it is fantastic to see this local business continue to go from strength to strength.”
