IN 2021 Borders author Jodie Lawrance released her debut novel, and the first in a 1970s crime thriller series.
Now, Jodie, who is based in Coldstream, is set to release the fourth instalment of her Helen Carter series.
The Missing Woman sees the return of detective Helen Carter, who is forced to confront her father, detective Richard Carter's, 20-year-old case – the Button Killer.
Carter must track down who is murdering young women in Edinburgh and determine if she has a copycat killer on her hands, or if her father put away the wrong man.
Lawrance's earlier offerings in this series, The Uniform, The Evidence, and The Suspects have done well with readers.
Her debut novel, The Uniform, features at number four on Amazon's Scottish Crime best sellers list, and joins some of the genre's great writers such as Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, and Ann Cleeves.
Lawrance graduated with an MA in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2018, and as well as writing she works as an actress
The Missing Woman will be released in paperback and on Kindle on Tuesday, May 16, and is published through Joffe Books.
