A MAN has been injured following an "serious assault " by a "group of youths".
Police are appealing for information and witnesses after the 24-year-old man was found injured on Greenbank Street, Galashiels, at around 12.25am on Sunday, May 21.
The man was taken to Borders General Hospital where he has received treatment.
Four young males believed to be involved have been described by the police.
One of the youths is described as male, white, around 18-years-old, 5ft 10in tall, of slim build with short dark hair, and wearing a blue hooded top, black trousers and trainers.
The second male, described as being of a large build and with short hair, was wearing a black jumber and trousers.
The third male wore a white t-shirt and had a black rucksack.
And the fourth is described as having curly blonde hair, and he was wearing all black.
Other youths may have been involved in the incident.
Detective Constable Liam Myers said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are working to trace those involved.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have seen anything in the area around this time to get in touch.”
