FORMER Gala Fairydean Rovers striker Zander Murray is returning to the Borders to lead a discussion about issues facing non-heterosexual athletes.
The 31-year-old remains the only openly-gay professional footballer in Scotland after coming out last September while with the Galashiels club.

The event is being organised by Gala Fairydean Rovers' community trust, together with Live Borders and Borders College, and thanks to funding from Glasgow-based charity Leadership, Equality and Active Participation in Sports Scotland.
Entitled Changing Rooms, Changing Minds: An Evening with Zander Murray takes place at Borders College’s Netherdale campus on Monday, June 26, at 7pm.

Entry will be free of charge to coaches, students and individuals interested in developing sporting talent and ensuring sport is open and inclusive.
Murray – who is Gala Fairydean Rovers all-time leading goalscorer – left Netherdale in January to join Scottish League Two side Bonnyrigg Rose and helped the Midlothian side retain their league status.
