A BORDERS motorist who admitted a careless driving charge has had his licence endorsed with 11 penalty points at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Thirty-eight-year-old Anthony Plaskett, of Borthaugh Road, Hawick, was initially charged with dangerous driving following an incident on November 23.
But he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of careless driving by driving at excessive speed, causing another vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision and driving on the opposite carriageway in Burnhead Road and Burnfoot Road in Hawick.
Plaskett had 11 penalty points placed on his licence which means he will be disqualified under the totting-up procedure if he commits another motoring offence which attracts penalty points.
He was also fined £200 with a £10 victim surcharge.
