THE Scottish Police Authority (SPA) have vacancies in the Lothians and Scottish Borders for Volunteer Independent Custody Visitors.
Independent Custody Visiting is a statutory function of the SPA; regular visits are undertaken by people from the community to police custody centres.

This allows volunteers to monitor the care and welfare of people in police custody and ensure their human rights are being observed.

As a volunteer, you are independent of both the SPA and the police.
The SPA is seeking to boost the number of people currently volunteering across the Lothians and Scottish Borders area.
