POLICE in the Scottish Borders have reported that the body of a man was found in a wooded area near Newtown St Boswells early this morning Sunday July 2 2023.
Officers say that identification has yet to take place but the family of James Cockburn, 86, reported missing from Town Yetholm, have been informed.

There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.30am on Sunday July 2, the body of a man was found in a wooded area near Newtown St Boswells.
Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of James Cockburn, 86, reported missing from Town Yetholm, have been informed.
