EXCITEMENT is building in Innerleithen for the start of St Ronan's Border Games.
All of the events at Games Week give locals and visitors the chance to take part.
Here is a full timetable for this year's events...
Saturday, July 8
- Five-a-side football tournament, at Victoria Park, 12 noon
- Standard Bearer’s Ball, at St Ronan’s Marquee, 7pm-2am
Sunday, July 9
Kirkin’ Service:
- Procession leaves Hall Street at 10.30am
- Innerleithen Parish Church at 11am
- Town bands entertain, on the High Street, 2pm
- Children's sports, treat and fun day, at Victoria Park, 3pm
Tuesday, July 11
- Over 60s Party Night, at the Memorial Hall, 7.30pm
Free tickets available from The Post Office/Allotment
Wednesday, July 12
- Quiz night, at 856 Social Club, 8pm
Thursday, July 13
Fancy dress parade:
- Judging in Victoria Park, 7pm (weather permitting)
- Vehicles (motorised and non-motorised) judged in Hall Street

St Ronan’s Cleikum Ceremonies:
- Memorial Hall, 7pm (doors open 6.15pm, close 6.55pm)
- “For the Fallen” War Memorial service, 7.45pm
- Ceremony at St Ronan’s Wells, 8.30pm
- Parade leaves Hall Street, 10.15pm for Innerleithen Parish Church and Masonic ceremony
Saturday, July 15
- Children’s flower parade, leaves Hall Street, 11am
- Race round the town (14-16 yrs and over 17 yrs) from Hall Street, 1.30pm
- Followed by: Games opening parade from Vale Club with massed bands
- 196th Anniversary St Ronan’s Border Games, at Victoria Park, 2pm
- Beating the Retreat, on the High Street, 7pm
- Torchlight procession from Vale Club for Caerlee Hill, 10pm
- Burning the De’il, Caerlee Hill, 10.30pm (approx.)
