HERON & Willow in Jedburgh has been successful in securing funding from Scottish Borders Council's Community Festival & Events Small Grant Scheme.
This will enable the independent book shop to create a Festival Of Stories, which will take place on September 16th and 17th.

The event will feature lots of one-off events at different locations across the town, including workshops, performances, exhibitions and author appearances.
Different events will be aimed at different age groups, so there should be something for everyone. Most if not all of the events will be free to attend.
Owner Dean Freeman said: "We've had wonderful local support since Heron & Willow opened three months ago. People love books and stories and the Borders are full of great tales, many hidden or cloaked in mystery.

“I thought it would be fun to create an event that celebrates them, but also encourages new people to tell and share their stories as well as create some new ones.
“ I want Festival Of Stories to be really accessible; you won't have to be mad into culture or reading to find something interesting."
