POLICE in the Scottish Borders say that their enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding a two vehicle crash which resulted in a man and woman being taken to hospital.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision just south of Broughton on the A701 shortly after 5pm yesterday Thursday July 20.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours to facilitate an investigation and to allow for vehicle recovery.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.15pm on Thursday, 20 July, 2023 officers were called to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A701 in the Broughton area.
"Police attended and a man and a woman were taken to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The vehicles were recovered and the road reopened. Enquiries are ongoing."
