KELSO Pharmacy has submitted an application to open a new pharmacy at 21-21B Roxburgh Street in the Borders town.

As part of the pre-application process NHS Borders and Kelso Pharmacy are now undertaking a Joint Consultation exercise to seek the views of people local to the proposed premises, or those who might use the proposed new pharmacy.

The joint public consultation started on Wednesday July 26 2023 and will run to Tuesday 28th November 2023.

To take part in the consultation complete the Pharmacy Consultation Questionnaire online. 

Alternatively you can complete the questionnaire and return via email to Primary.Care@borders.scot.nhs.uk or in the post to Primary Care Contracts, P&CS, Borders General Hospital, Huntlyburn Terrace, Melrose TD6 9BS.

All views submitted will be incorporated into the Consultation Analysis Report (CAR) which will be taken into account by NHS Borders Pharmacy Practices Committee (PCC) which decides the outcome of an application.

The map outlines the area affected by the proposal. 

Proposed opening hours: Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 6pm,  Saturday: 9.00am – 5.00pm and Sunday: 10am – 2pm

Proposed services to be provided: Dispensing of NHS Prescriptions,  NHS Pharmacy First Scotland,  Pharmaceutical Public Health Services,  Medication Care and Review,  Gluten Free Foods, Stoma Service,  Unscheduled Care, Substance Misuse Service.

Currently there are two pharmacies in Kelso, Boots in The Square and Lloyds in Horsemarket.
