THE Maroon'd@Gala Festival draw for the Senior Mens and both the U18 and U16 boys tournaments took place last night, live on YouTube hosted by Dale Clancy of Borders Rugby TV.
The draw for the U16s Tournament was made by Gala Rugby Vice-President Sinclair Paterson: Round 1 Ties: Gala vs Melrose, Jed vs Hawick, Kelso vs Peebles and Selkirk vs Duns
The draw for the U18s Tournament was made by Gala Rugby President Gary Isaac - Round 1 Ties: Melrose vs Morpeth, Peebles vs Gala, Kelso vs Jed-Thistle and Selkirk vs Hawick

The draw for the Senior Kings of the 7s Tournament was made by sponsor Derek McGill of McGill Mortgages who picked the teams from Pool A: Melrose, 2 Scots Army, Selkirk and Jed Forest.
Mr Isaac picked Pool B:Gala, Peebles, Kelso and Hawick
Mr Isaac said: “We’ve gone for the same format as we previously had, starting with the minis, right through, the Under 16s, the Girls, we have Clan coming back again then you’ve got the Under 18s and the Senior Tournament.
“The S2 and S3 games will be played on the Friday night. We thought it was a great idea to encourage these guys and let them see what it is all about and hopefully develop their skills in a big tournament event.

“We’ve brought in a family friendly hospitality where people can come along with their kids with a bouncy castle and it’s been a great success and it’s sold out.
“The music is from all local bands and we have a big headliner coming at night. And we are delighted to announce that we have Calcutta Cup, the Doddie Weir Cup and the Massimo Cuttitta Cup.
“So you have about 1,000 players all in, so it’s probably one of the biggest rugby events in Scotland.”
Gala RFC host Falkirk in a pre-season friendly at Netherdale on Saturday Kick off 3pm. Entry is free.
