EIGHT young people from the TD1 Youth Hub recently completed a two-day 'Fireskills' course at Galashiels Community Fire Station recently.
The youngsters undertook training in hose running, breathing apparatus, CPR, water safety and search procedures.

The Fireskills Courses are run by Scottish Fire & Rescue Service throughout Scotland by the local Community Action Teams.
They are delivered to young people of middle secondary years (S3-4).
Stephanie Anderson, project lead at TD1 Youth Hub, said: “TD1 Youth Hub are incredibly proud of our longstanding partnership with our local Fire Station and it’s personnel. We are delighted to see the Fireskills course back again after an enforced three-year break.
“This is the fifth time that we have supported our young people in taking part in this course, each with great success.

“The personal benefits to each participant extend beyond the drill yard. It has been great to watch their confidence grow and see them all thrive, and be inspired, in this interactive, fun learning environment.
Alan Wear, SFRS local area liaison officer for the Scottish Borders, added: “The Fire Service Community Action Team for the Borders were delighted to welcome TD1 Youth Hub along to Galashiels Fire Station recently.
