BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a 27-year-old man who admitted sending a film of his former partner in an intimate situation over social media to another man.

Jonathan Williamson, who gave an address in Darcy Terrace, Mayfield, pleaded guilty to the offence designed to cause the woman fear and alarm or distress.

The film was sent to the man from Peebles between March 13 and April 2 last year.

A not guilty plea to sending the man unwanted messages and voicemails and uttering threats of violence and derogatory remarks was accepted by the Crown.

Sentence was deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court until September 19 on Williamson – who is currently remanded in custody on another matter – for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment.
