The A68 road was blocked following a crash during the early hours of this morning.
The crash involved two vehicles and took place around 1.30pm
The road was blocked and drivers were advised to use an alternative route.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.35am on Wednesday, August 30 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A68 near Pathhead, heading towards Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and on arrival firefighters found one car well alight.
“Two casualties were removed from both vehicles and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
The road has now reopend.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 01:36 to attend a road traffic collision on A68 at Pathhead.
"An ambulance and a special operations response team (SORT) were dispatched to the scene and no patients were conveyed to hospital.”
