TWO cars have been stolen from outside a house in the Borders following an early-morning break-in, according to police.
Detectives believe the thieves entered the Mill Road property in the Stow area and took the car keys between 3am and 4.30am today (August 30).
A white Audi and white Volvo were taken, with the vehicles spotted shortly after travelling north on the A7.
Detective Constable Louise Begley, of Galashiels CID, said: “We are appealing for any information which could help us in tracing the vehicles and identifying the people responsible.
“In particular we are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have noticed the stolen vehicles.
“We would also urge any motorists with dash-cams, who were on the A7 between Midlothian and Galashiels in the early hours of this morning, to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 0441 of Wednesday, August 30, 2023.”
