POLICE officers in the Scottish Borders targeted speeding drivers at various locations in the region last week.
On Thursday August 31 officers carried out speed checks in the villages of Westruther, Gavington and Ayton.

Police Scotland later confirmed that one warning was given at each location.
A police spokesperson said: “Please drive considerately, remember the 20mph speed limit and be mindful of children and other vulnerable road users.”

Elsewhere at the weekend officers from Police Scotland’s National Motorcycle Unit stopped a motorbike on the A7 due to the porr standing of riding.

The rider was discovered to be disqualified from holding a licence and the bike was seized.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
