DETECTIVES in the Scottish Borders are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted robbery in the Galashiels area.
The incident took place around 12.45am on Friday, 8 September, 2023, close to the junction of Hill Street and Croft Street.
The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was walking her dog when she was approached and threatened by a man. She was uninjured, but left shaken by the incident.

The man ran from the area when the dog began barking. He is described as being white, in his 30s, around 5ft 8, with a stocky build and short dark hair.
He was wearing a grey jumper, grey shorts with stipes down the side, and spoke with a Scottish accent.

Detective Constable Claire White said: “This was understandably a frightening incident for the victim, who should have been able to walk the streets with her dog without fear of being attacked.
“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify the man involved and are asking for anyone who was in the area, or may have private CCTV, video doorbell or dashcam footage to please come forward.”
