A BORDERS road will close for three days this week to facilitate patching work.

The B6357 Lawston to Longrow road at Newcastleton will close between 8.30am – 5pm from today Monday September 11

The alternative route is via B6357, A6088, A698, A7, B6318 and B6357 to point of closure.

The closure was announced by Scottish Borders Council who said: “Where we're required to carry out planned maintenance on the road and bridge network, there may not always be enough space to allow a safe working area as well as allow vehicles through the works.

“Where this is the case a road closure is the only appropriate solution to address both traffic and pedestrian management.
