A BORDERS support service for people with learning difficulties has been deemed as a safe as houses after an inspection.
Eildon Housing Association run a housing support service from Station Avenue in Duns.
Station Avenue Outreach provides a service to 13 adults with learning difficulties living in their own homes.
Representatives of the Care Inspectorate visited the service on August 7.
It was found that staff members supported people well and that this promoted good health and well-being outcomes.
Staff also communicated with “warmth, kindness and good humour” and that people were supported to “get the most out of life”.
The service was rated “very good” for supporting people’s well-being and for its leadership.
The report says: “The service was flexible where people wanted to have support out-with their usual support hours so they could attend events and go on short holiday breaks.
“Support plans sampled held very good information about the person’s care and support needs.”
